LAKE COUNTY ORV
A Non Profit Club with a Mission to Promote Education & Safety using ORV's in lake County,Mi.
sure was another nice weekend. Last weekend was the Blessing of the Bikes, which is a huge motorcycle event. It usually brings in around 30,000 to 50,000 people. Some to ride their motorcycles, some to just look at the motorcycles. It's a great event with little to no problems and it very good for the area. With that said, if you came up to ride your ORV, you found a lot of road traffic and no motel rooms were available, but you did find some smooth, awesome trails. The groomer had went through on 5-13-10 and man the trails were nice. This week the ESSEX ORV club is here checking our the Resort and ORV trails. They should have a very nice week of riding, nice weather, smooth trails and light to no traffic on the trails. This is what weekday riding is all about. We do have three rooms open for this week and four rooms open for this weekend and we also have some rental ORV available.
I need to repeat myself again with this. Our County allows ORV’s to ride on the shoulders of some of the county roads, but you must ride to the right at 25 mph and single file, unless posted slower. If you do not do this, the ordinance will be revoked and you will have to trailer your ORV to the trail head. Plus if they catch you do riding on a closed road or area, speeding or tearing the roads up, the fine is $500 and they can impound your ATV and make you pay restitution for the road repairs. So please obey the rules, we have worked too long and hard to get this ordinance to allow it to be taken away. If you see someone messing up, say something to them, or if they won’t listen to you, call 911 and turn them in. This ordinance is to good of a thing to let a few butt heads ruin it for everyone.
Here is a link to a video by Dirt Bike Michigan on the Little O trail. This is also an ATV trail. Little O trail ride. Here is a YouTube video that Dave from Fishweb, did on the Little Manistee trail, while he was here at the Resort this last summer with one of our rental Can Am ATV's. Little Manistee trail ride.
Very Cool and this is just one of the trails.
The bridge replacement over the Little Manistee River and Syers Creek on the west side of trail 35, just north and east of the M37 staging area, is now done and open for traffic.
In the summer months right beside the trails there are ditches cut into the banks, so the water will run off of the trails. STAY OUT, THEY ARE VERY DEEP. Some of these ditches are over 8 feet deep and if you drive into one, you will most likely suck muddy water into engine and it will be ruined and if it's one of our rentals, you will be owning a rental with a bad motor.
ATV & Snowmobile Rentals LLC rents onsite, Can Am, Honda and Yamaha ATV's too, so give us a call and go riding on GROOMED ATV trails. You will have a ball, these are the only trails in the state that I know of, that are groomed (during the summer months) for ATV's and you can have several days of riding with out seeing the same tree time after time. Not like the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, four hills and you seen it all. And the ATV rentals at the Dunes is $110 for 3 hours, ours is $140 for all day, you decide which one is a better deal. We both rent the exact same ATV's, except we have more choices. Now there are some ungroomed trails here also, so if you do want the bumps, jumps and tight twisty trails, you can have them too, you decide.
We have great trails for the ATV’s & Dirt Bikes to ride and they are the Little O Trail (46 miles of 50" trails), Tin Cup Springs Trail (21 miles of 50" trails and 21 miles of 72" trails) are a hoot to ride. The Little Manistee Trail (46 miles of 50" trails and 46 miles of 72" trails) and the Lincoln Hills Trail (21 miles of 50" trails and 21 miles of 72" trails). In all there is 222 miles of ATV, ORV trails and routes plus the single tracks for the Dirt Bikes, which I believe is around 88 miles. That’s 310 miles of dirty fun. And they even groom the Little Manistee and Lincoln Hill 72" trails weekly in the summer.
If you want to come to this area just give us a call toll free at 877 745 4101 8am until 10pm or from a cell phone 231-745 4101 8am until 10pm and if we don't have a room, we will try our best to find you a room, so call soon to get your room reserved or they will be all gone.
